It’s a huge responsibility when your film reprsents your country; Rajkummar Rao comments on his film getting nominated for The Oscars

Actor Rajkummar Rao attended fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s X Chandon Limited Edition End of Year 2017 Bottles at Monday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Rajkummar stated that it’s a huge responsibility when your film represents your country at The Oscars.

Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Newton’ declared as India’s official entry at The Oscars in foreign language film category, when asked about the development on that front, Rajkummar Rao said, “It’s a huge responsibility when your film represents your country at The Oscars. We have cleared the first step but we have to fight a long battle out there. Worldwide, 92 films are nominated with whom our film is competing in foreign language film category so now we have to clear top 9 films and then top 5 films so it’s going to have different ball game altogether but we will try really hard”

Rajkummar known for doing different kind of movies and he will next be seen in ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’, talking about that, Rajkummar said, “Shaadi Mein Zaroor Ana’ is releasing on 10th November, It’s my job as an actor to be part of various kind of films. I like to give something new to my audience with my every film otherwise, it would get boring for me as well when I will start doing same kind of films so it’s better to try and take risks”

Rajkummar Rao’s next film ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ is based on marriage and in his another film of 2017 ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi ‘was also based on marriage so when asked Rajkummar when he is going to get married in real life, Rao said, “I am not getting married in real life so that’s why I am getting married in films but there are times in films also where I don’t end up getting married. There is still so much time left for me to get married in real life. Right now, I am focusing on my work and I feel I am still a kid so I am not in a hurry to get married.”

Talking about his Diwali plans, Rao said, “This will be a working Diwali for me. I will be busy shooting for ‘Fanney Khan’. I have started shooting for ‘Fanney Khan’ and it’s going really well. I am really happy and enjoying and I am having great time on sets”

Yesterday, the Supreme Court has banned the sale of firecrackers till November 1 in Delhi and NCR region, talking about that verdict, Rao said, “I think there are many things which we should ban. I totally agree with this ban. I feel to express our happiness; we don’t need to burn crackers. Diwali is festival of lights. In Diwali, we should enjoy sweet dishes and spend time with family and friends so there are many ways to celebrated this festival”

Rajkummar next will be seen in Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana with Kriti Kharbanda. It directed by Ratna Sinha. It will release on 10th November.

He will also be seen in Hansal Mehta’s Omerta, which was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and last but not the least, ALTBalaji’s web series – Bose that marks his debut into the digital space.
