Bhumi Pednekar is an actor who is known for her versatile on-screen performances. She is one of the most talked-about contemporary actors from Bollywood among the media and the fans.

The Pati Patni Aur Woh actor who is all geared up with her upcoming movie Durgamati, said that the role of Durgamati physically, mentally, and emotionally was very demanding. And this one has really gone notches above anything that she has done so far.

Bhumi Pednekar was seen interacting with the media with in Mumbai. Talking about her role in the film, Bhumi said, “It is the most challenging and special film for me as it is for the first time the responsibility of the entire film will be on my shoulders. Durgamati is something I’m most pressured and excited about”

Bhumi praising the makers of her film said, “Akshay Kumar gives complete freedom as an actor. He opted for me for this film because he and the makers thought that I can portray this role more precisely. And they never tried to influence my role. My director has supported me a lot. This was the film where I succumbed to myself completely, because it was not possible for me to sit in a room and rehearse the scenes. It is completely my director’s vision and I have just adhered to whatever he wanted me to”

‘Durgamati’ is a horror-thriller film directed by G. Ashok, which is a remake of his own 2018 Telugu-Tamil film Bhaagamathie and starring Bhumi Pednekar as an IAS officer, which was played by Anushka Shetty in the original version.

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Akshay Kumar, and Vikram Malhotra under T-Series, Cape of Good Films, and Abundantia Entertainment.

The official announcement for the film was made on 30 November 2019. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film will be available to stream worldwide from 11 December 2020 on Amazon Prime Video.
