Actor Farhan Akhtar and singer Vishal Dadlani pays tribute to Charlie Watts, the lead drummer for famous Rolling Stones.

The self-effacing and unshakeable Rolling Stones drummer, Charlie Watts, who helped anchor one of rock’s greatest rhythm sections and used his day job to support his enduring love of jazz, has died at the age of 80.

Actor and singer Farhan Akhtar took to his social media profile and shared, “RIP. Thank you for the music. #CharlieWatts”

Singer Vishal Dadlani shared a picture of the drummer and wrote, “To the memory of the great Mr. #CharlieWatts, the Gentleman Drummer, the ultimate antithesis of every rockandroll cliche. It was a privilege to have watched and heard #TheRollingStones Live in Mumbai, and to have grown up with all those songs. Learnt so much, will keep learning so much from them”

Charlie Watts passed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family. Watts had announced he would not tour with the Stones in 2021 because of an undefined health issue.

Charlie was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also as a member of The Rolling Stones, one of the greatest drummers of his generation.

Meanwhile on the work front, Farhan Akhtar is making a comeback to direction with Jee Le Zaraa, starring a dreamy cast with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
