Downton Abbey – A New Era Trailer Is Out

The first official teaser-trailer for Downton Abbey: A New Era is finally out. It is a continuation of the big screen cinematic Downton Abbey story, with the first film opening back in 2019 after an immensely successful TV series.

This new film will see the Crawley family and Downton staff receiving a royal visit from the King and Queen of Great Britain.

It stars Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Maggie Smith, Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Hugh Dancy, Nathalie Baye, Laura Haddock, and Dominic West.

The movie comes two years after the "Downton Abbey" feature film and features Tom Branson's second wedding and an admission from the Dowager Countess, played by Maggie Smith, which takes the family to the South of France.

It is helmed by Simon Curtis, the screenplay is again written by Julian Fellowes, the creator and writer of the television series of the same name.

Bankrolled by Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge, it will open in theatres from 18th March 2022.
