Content Rules Not The Star Power Says Raveena Tandon

Actress Raveena Tandon, who will soon make her OTT debut with Aranyak says the content has always been the king, not the star power.

Interacting with Newshelpline on the sidelines of Netflix’s Aranyak trailer launch, Raveena shared her thoughts about content being the ruling element and rest is just what comes next.

Talking about content being really important, Raveena said, “That has been the rule since ages. It is not something new to behold. It has always been the thing; content always is the king and that has been proved repeatedly. It is my feeling that it’s not the star or star face or star value, it’s the character and content that makes the show powerful and gripping to watch”

Further adding, she said, “In the show, I am playing the role of Kasturi, but anyone could have played the role because it is a strong character, and it would have reach out to audience anyhow. Its mediocre or average, so let’s just pass the role, I don’t operate that way, what matters to me is the content and how everyone makes it strong”

The show is helmed by Vinay Waikul, starring Raveena Tandon, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ashutosh Rana, Meghna Malik, Indraneil Sengupta and Zakir Hussain among others.

The drama series is set in the dense forest of the Himalayas, Raveena Tandon as a harried local cop, who joins hands with her city-bred replacement Angad (Parambrata Chatterjee) to solve a big-ticket murder case of a teenage tourist. As the two struggle to nail the serial killing entity, old skeletons get dug up, and a forgotten myth is revived.

Bankrolled by Roy Kapur Films and Ramesh Sippy Entertainment, and Rohan Sippy as its showrunner, it will premiere on Netflix this 10th December.
