Cricket Is The Unlisted Religion Of India Says Farhan Akhtar
Actor and producer Farhan Akhtar says cricket is the unlisted religion of India and he has some of the best memories around the sport.
Farhan Akhtar along with entire ensemble of Inside Edge 3 were interacting with Newshelpline at the trailer launch of the series.
When asked about his love for the sports, Farhan said, “Cricket is the unlisted religion in India and there is this feeling that if you’re not interested in cricket then there is something wrong with you. I’d played cricket while growing up in streets or buildings, now there is little space issue in Mumbai, so playing it is an issue”
“I’d always had cricket in my life, some of the best memories that I have is around cricket, watching it with my parents and their friends, celebrating when India won and getting a heartbreak when our team lost. The sports of cricket have played a huge role in connecting all of us. Culturally it is a part of who we are, and no one take that away from us” added Farhan.
The series explore the dark side of the sports, the power struggles and politics. The new season deals with doping and legalizing betting.
