After Giving Up Hope, I’d Won An National Award Says Manoj Bajpayee
Mumbai, 27th January 2022 (NewsHelpline) – Veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee, who has won the prestigious National Award three times in his career for his stunning and nuanced performance, shares an interesting story about winning the honor.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee was interacting with NewsHelpline on the sidelines of a social event in Mumbai.
Being a three times National Award winner, we’d asked Manoj if he is hopeful about winning an award with any of his forthcoming releases, and he said, “A long time ago, I gave up all hopes on National Award, but when I got the award for Bhosle, I was surprised. My filmmaker friend Hansal Mehta and others thought I would win an award for Aligarh, with dead certainty, but I didn’t get it. So, the idea is, don’t expect too much, just keep on doing the good work and things will happen at their own pace”
Further adding about his forthcoming releases, Manoj said, “I just completed three movies, one is with Ram Reddy, one is with Kanu Bahl, and one is with Abhishek Chaubey”
Apart from three National Film Awards, Manoj has been awarded with six Filmfare Awards, and two Asia Pacific Screen Awards. In 2019, he was awarded India's fourth-highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri, for his contributions to art.
