I am excited to work with Vidhu Vinod Chopra production’s next film says Sonam Kapoor

Actress Sonam Kapoor attended closing ceremony of 19th Jio MAMI Film Festival on Wednesday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Sonam stated that she is excited to work in Vidhu Vinod’s Chopra production’s next film.

Recently, Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has confirmed that Anil Kapoor will be teaming up with his daughter Sonam Kapoor for his upcoming production. Titled ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’, the movie will reportedly be directed by Chopra's sister, Shelly Chopra. Talking about her next movie, Sonam said, “I am not allowed to speak about it. Vinod uncle (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) spoke about it and obviously, it’s been a fantastic year for me with my films. Working with Vinod uncle’s production for Raju sir’s (Raj Kumar Hirani) film (Sajnjay Dutt Biopic) and doing ‘Padman’ with R. Balki and Akshay Kumar. My next film will also be under Vinod uncle’s production so for tha,t I am really excited”

Actress Sonam Kapoor was furious over gossip around an alleged ‘cat fight’ on the sets of her film “Veere Di Wedding”, which features an ensemble of actresses including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. Sonam’s on twitter stated that catfights are outdated which came following a ‘blind item’ posted by an entertainment portal, reacting to that twitter post, Sonam said, “That article was written by a female and that was very detrimental when you are working in women centric film and someone says that we can’t get along or bitch about each other and it was really untrue.”

“It was fabricated article and I was very hurt with that. Usually, I am very friendly with media and I never look at them as enemies. This was the first time, I was under attack for something that I didn’t even do. I would never usually react to something like that because if something is true then my publicist will never call up and say retract the statement. If it’s true then it’s true, if it’s about my relationship or something that I might have done but it was completely untrue and fabricated so it was shocker to me especially because it was written by woman and I know exactly who it was . It came as blind item and it was very hurtful”

Sonam has shined in women-centric filmlike ‘Neerja’ talking about gender equality in cinema, Sonam said, “Sexism exists everywhere. Hopefully, we are taking step forward. I hope it progresses. I am an optimist not a pessimist, all realistic so I hope we are moving forward with that”

Talking about her Diwali plans, Sonam said, “We are having small party at our house tomorrow. We will have Laxmi Puja. We are not giving any Diwali gifts because my grandmother passed away this year but my mom said she lived such amazing life so it’s okay for us to celebrate, so we are having the part for young people”

Sonam Kapoor next will be seen in Shashanka Ghosh’s ‘Veery di Wedding’, Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Duut Biopic and R. Balki’s’Padman’.
