Writing Quality Has Changed As It’s Contemporary Says Shailesh Lodha

Noted poet, actor, comedian, and writer Shailesh Lodha is best known for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and now as he ventures into poetry show titled Waah Bhai Waah, he opens about changing landscape of poetry, writing and lyrics.

Shailesh Lodha was interacting with NewsHelpline on the sidelines of Waah Bhai Waah show launch in Mumbai.

We asked Shailesh about the lyrics and writing being on poor quality and one doesn’t really care about the lyrics anymore, he said, “Quality of poetry on stage or lyrics in song, I probably wouldn’t comment whether the quality has gone down or not, but I’d its changing”

“There is a change, and one must also realize that things usually are contemporary, such as language and clothing keeps on changing with generation, and the same way the writing has also changed. Sometimes it does hurt my feeling that we have fallen from Lag Ja Gaale to Char Bottle Vodka, Ishq Kuda to Ishq Kamina, so there is a change. I wouldn’t say that the quality has gone down, but it has changed”

Further adding about people still remembers the old song lyrics but hardly could remember the new generation songs, Shailesh said, “As for not being able to remember the lyrics or song, it has nothing to do with quality, it is more of a psychological thing, we have so many options now, earlier there were none. Back in days people read and listen to radio, now there are so many options and things releasing at a rapid pace, it is hard to keep track”
