We Need More Theatres But Need To Work On Costing Says Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai, 16th May 2023 (Newshelpline) - Actress and producer Kangana Ranaut believes that dwindling box-office collection can only be sorted if we have more affordable screens, where film viewing isn’t too heavy on the pocket.

Ever since the lockdown, the dwindling box-office collection has been a major issue with cinema-hall owners, and now leading PVR Inox multiplex has clocked a whopping loss of 333 crores and will shut down their 50 leading cinema halls in coming six months, as reported.

Weighing in on the issue, Kagana Ranaut took to her social media profile and wrote, “We need more theatres in the country…we need more screens, this is not good for the film industry…having said that watching films in the multiplexes have become very expensive, going with friends /family means a significant part of a middle class person’s salary…something needs to be worked out…”

With digital expansion and OTT platforms offering original and generic content on a monthly subscription, theatrical box-office collection is declining every quarter.

Meanwhile on the work front, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Dhaakad which tanked at the box-office. Next, she will be seen in Tejas, Emergency, Chandramukhi 2, Manikarnika 2 and more. She is also producing Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
