Thank You OTIFF, Thalaivii Is Indeed A Piece Of My Heart Says Kangana Ranaut
Biographical drama film based on the life of Indian actress-politician J. Jayalalithaa, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, has fetched Best Actress OTIFF Award for the actress.
The official handle of Osaka Tamil International Film Festival confirmed the award, it said, “#OTIFF2021 Best Actress Award Proudly presented to @kanganaranaut #thalaivii @osaka_tamil_film_festival @suresh_nallusamy_official”
The film stars Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalithaa, she took to her social media and acknowledged the award and expressed her gratitude, the caption read, “Thank you for this honour....Thalaivii is indeed a piece of my heart... many thanks for this Acknowledgment."
Released back in 2021, based on the life of actor-turned-politician Jayalalithaa (played by Kangana Ranaut), her relationship with the illustrious M. G. Ramachandran (played by Arvind Swami), and her turbulent ascent to power as the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Kangana has given her best for the film and she put a lot of effort into making the character look real. In fact, she gained 20 kgs in just six months for her role.
