Asked how has the fraternity responded to the film, Shahid said, “The film is supposed to be out on 1st of December and we are all very proud of the film. It is going to be a very special cinematic experience. It I something I hope the whole fraternity is proud of. The way I have been getting responses after the trailer, genuinely the whole fraternity has come together for the film. At times when the work is so beautiful, people don’t think whose film it is, they just feel that it is a great thing that somebody is making a film like this is India. The visuals are larger than life and the film speaks for itself. We are all very excited for the release.”

Talking about the new song’s release Shahid said, the song’s purpose is to show the love they share with each other. There are many layers to the song, their relationship as husband and wife, as Raja and Rani. They go through a lot in their lives and the song talks about it all. Right now, people are listening to the song in isolation but it will make more sense when the watch it with the film.”

Padmavati is a fictionalized account of the life of Rani Padmini, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen. The cast includes Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh. The film has been receiving backlash from followers who take it as an offense to the late lady Padmavati.

The movie presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions, is scheduled to release this year on December 1, 2017.
