Priyanka Chopra Jonas Joins Production Team for Barry Avrich's Documentary "Born Hungry"

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, renowned actor and producer, has added another feather to her cap by joining the production team of Barry Avrich's latest feature documentary, "Born Hungry." Priyanka, along with her production company Purple Pebble Pictures, will collaborate on this project that promises to be a poignant and compelling narrative.

Taking to her social media, Priyanka expressed her excitement about the project, stating, "Aligning with stories and filmmakers that have the ability to move the audience by having a unique point of view is what we always look for at @purplepebblepictures." "Born Hungry" is a true story that follows the journey of Sash Simpson, a young Indian boy who was abandoned by his family, lost on trains, and ended up thousands of miles away from home. Despite these challenges, Sash's story takes a remarkable turn as he survives alone on the streets of Chennai, eating from garbage bins, before being adopted by a Canadian couple. Now, a celebrity chef, Sash returns to India armed with only blurry memories, on a mission to find his lost family.

The documentary premiered at the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival and is set to screen at the Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto on April 26, 2024. The collaboration between Melbar Entertainment Group, Purple Pebble Pictures, and Barry Avrich promises to bring Sash Simpson's inspiring story to life on the big screen.
