Priyanka Chopra Turns Investor in a Dating App Company
World Beauty Priyanka Chopra adds another feather in her cap, the singer and producer turns an investor in US based dating app Bumble.
The company has roped in Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra as an investor who will act as an advisor for its India expansion. Peecee took to her social media profile and confirmed her association with the company.
She wrote, “A new chapter for me! I am so excited to partner with @bumble and @holbertonschool as an investor. I’m honored to join two companies that strive to expand gender diversity in the tech space, and make a social impact for the greater good... let’s do this!!”
India’s online dating industry is estimated at $7 million (Rs52 crore) currently and its revenue is expected to grow at 10.5% annually till 2023, according to online statistics and market intelligence firm Statista. Compared to the US, where the sector generates annual revenue upwards of $250 million, things are just starting out for the online dating industry in India. With Bumble’s entry, things might now pick up pace.
Apart from entrepreneur ventures, Priyanka Chopra is currently shooting for “The Sky is Pink” with Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
