I don’t think I am a finger nail of Nutan says Pranutan Bahl

Actress Pranutan Bahl, who is making her Hindi film debut with a film titled ‘Notebook’, has said that she doesn’t feel that she is a finger nail of late veteran actress of Nutan who was her paternal  grandmother.

Pranutan Bahl was interacting with the media to promote ‘Notebook’ along with her co-actor Zaheer Iqbal on Wednesday in Mumbai.

Pranutan Bahl is daughter of actor Mohanish Bahl and granddaughter of late veteran actress Nutan. Since the trailer of ‘Notebook’ has released, people on social media platforms are saying that Pranutan resembles her grandmother, when asked Pranutan how she takes that compliment, she said, “I feel scared because she was one of the finest actresses that we had in Indian cinema. We all know that she was really good actress but with the kind of grace and dignity she is led her life is a biggest learning for me. If people feel that I resemble her then, I am really grateful for it but I don’t think I am her finger nail also. It’s unimaginable to reach the kind skill that she had as a personality. When I hear such kind of things then, it makes me emotional but to hear such kind of things for a newcomer or an actress is a big achievement in itself.”

Talking about audience response to the trailer and songs of ‘Notebook’, Pranutan said, “We are getting really positive response for the trailer and songs of our film. We are feeling happy that film industry has welcomed Zaheer (Iqbal) and I with a lot of warmth. We are hearing about the cinematography of the film being great, trailer of our film is increasing curiosity among people and people are interested in our debut so, what more could we ask for as debutants.”

Today, makers of ‘Notebook’ launched ‘Laila’ song from their film on social media platforms, when asked Pranutan what are her views on the song, she said, “It is very close to my heart because I think it’s a very brave song. In the song, my character Firdaus is saying to Kabir (Zaheer Iqbal) that one day, we will become memorable like eternal couple Laila-Majnu. It’s a huge proclamation and usually, we see that boys make such kind of statements but Firdaus is a kind of girl who tells Kabir that ‘I love you and I am not afraid to show it and say it’.”

‘Notebook’ is produced by Salman Khan Films along with Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde of Cine1 Studios and it is directed by Nitin Kakkar.

Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal starrer ‘Notebook’ will release in cinemas on March 29, 2019.
