Understanding the audience is most important in filmmaking says Neha Dhupia
Actress Neha Dhupia attended panel discussion organized by India Film Project on the lines of changing dynamics of Mumbai film industry along with Dia Mirza, Kunal Kapoor, and Shashank Khaitan on Saturday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Neha asserted that understanding the audience is important while making a film.
When asked her what kind of changes she seeks in Indian film industry in coming years, she said, “I think we always have to understand the audience because they are most important part of cinema or anything you do when it comes to entertainment. Understanding of the audience is most important aspect in filmmaking and being true to your craft is also important. I feel filmmakers should make stories which they really want to tell. Somebody is going to like it and somewhere it’s going to make a difference. If nothing else there will be small dent in the universe and guess what? It’s still better than not leaving an impact”.
Talking about being a part of India Film Project’s panel discussion, Neha said, “It’s very interesting I think because I rarely be a part of panel discussions because I always feel that I have different point of view and that too very honest one, so the whole point is when you have platforms like this then it’s important to be part of it not only because you want to express what you feel because you also want to give insider detail on what we as people who are cinema goers and people who are part of process of filmmaking, what we feel about what’s happening inside, so I am feeling good. It’s essential to share our point of views. I am excited to share panel with Shashank and Dia so it’s going to be a great morning. Dussehra gets rid of all evil so we will only speak the truth at the event”.
