Actress Vidya Balan just took to her social media and shared some of the most stunning pictures of her-self flaunting remarkably intricate traditional designed saree!

7th August was chosen as the National Handloom Day to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement which was launched on this day in 1905 in the Calcutta Town hall to protest against partition of Bengal by the British Government.

Vidya Balan took to her social media and wrote, “On #NationalHandloomDay let us all resolve to support our weavers across the country in these difficult times by buying and wearing their beautiful creations in our everyday life and also help keep #IndiasHandloomLegacy alive. Meanwhile on the work front, Vidya Balan starrer short film Natkhat (2020), a drama about a mother teaching her young son about gender equality, marked her first production venture. It premiered on YouTube as part of the We Are One: A Global Film Festival.

She then portrayed the mental calculator Shakuntala Devi in an eponymous biopic, which due to the COVID-19 pandemic could not release theatrically and instead streamed on Prime Video.

Vidya will next star in Amit V. Masurkar's satire Sherni, and has committed to produce and star as Indira Gandhi in a yet-untitled web series based on Sagarika Ghose's biography Indira – India's Most Powerful Prime Minister.
