Shamshera Trailer Goes Viral, Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor And Sanjay Dutt

Mumbai, 24th June 2022 (NewsHelpline) - After initial teaser and first look, the first official trailer for Shamshera is out and this one has gone viral within hours of its release, clocking close to 3.7 million hits.

Helmed by Karan Malhotra, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and more, the period drama is set in 1871, the dark ages of Indian history, when Britishers ruled the country, and a dacoit, who challenges the system and regime.

The official handle of YRF shared the trailer on social media, it said, “A father’s legacy. A son’s destiny. The legend of SHAMSHERA is here, watch the #ShamsheraTrailer NOW. Shamshera's trailer featured all three actors in never-before-seen avatars. Ranbir Kapoor plays two different characters, one being the legendary Shamshera, and his son. Vaani Kapoor is the dancer and love interest of Ranbir Kapoor, while Sanjay Dutt is brutal officer, who is out to kill Shamshera.

The film is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved, and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian Daroga Shudh Singh played by Sanjay Dutt.

The film also stars Ronit Bose Roy and Saurabh Shukla, who are Ranbir Kapoor’s gang members. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader and then a legend for his tribe, and of-course, make his father proud, who was the first Shamshera.

The story is written by Neelesh Mishra and Khila Bisht and dialogues are penned by Piyush Mishra. The film is slated for 22nd July 2022 release.
