Mumbai, 17th May 2023 (Newshelpline) - Following a release in UK, team The Kerala Story including Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Sudipto Sen, Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonai Balani,  And Siddhi Idnani hosted a press-conference to celebrate the success of the film.

The Kerala Story has been facing backlash from a section of political parties and groups who have claimed that the film is not based on facts, and propagates hatred against the Muslim community.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also declared a ban on The Kerala Story in the state, despite different bans and protests, the film has been running exceptionally well in theatres. The film is likely to cross Rs 190 crore-mark in India today.

During the press-conference, film producer claimed that uncovering the truth behind this hidden scandal was paramount. People are trying to claim that is movie is a fake, makers are lying and the film is filthy, which is not the case, the film is bigger than just the story of three girls.

The film has minted money at the box-office, and Vipul Shah donated a whopping amount 51 lakh to Aarsha Vidya Samajam Ashram, who looks after religion conversion survivors. The makers also invited 26 girls from the Ashram to interact with media along with film ensemble.

The plot follows the story of a group of women from Kerala who are converted to Islam and join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
