Manikarnika's producer Kamal Jain says Kangana is like Rani Lakshmi Bai in real life.
Producer Kamal Jain interacted with media after the film's trailer release on Friday.
Talking about the film and their choice to cast Kangaga as the lead he said, "When we first looked at the story and thought about it we realized the subject matter is really larger than life. This is our country's story that is part of all of us. She is a symbol of heroism. Without a doubt in our mind we knew Kangana is the most suitable one to do this film. In real life also she is like Rani Lakshmi Bai and is one of the finest actors in the country today."
Kangana Ranaut plays the titular role of Rani Laxmibai in the film. It also stars debutant Ankita Lokhande in pivotal role.
He added talking about the film's teaser release, "If you have seen the teaser she absolutely looks the part. I must say she worked extra hard to portray the character. She sort of has given her life to this film."
